Every year, our faculty welcomes students and professors from all around the world. For one semester or one year, for a mobility for teaching or for research, the International Relations office (IRO) of the faculty gives you help and guides you during your stay.

How to join our faculty ?

As in all exchange programs, you can study in our faculty once you are nominated or preselected by your home university. So the first step is to contact the International Relations Office of your home university.

After being nominated, what are the following steps ?

As an international student, you will need to complete the enrolment procedure on our online platform, MoveOn.
The link will be sent to you after your nomination by your home university.

Kindly find below the list of required documents :

  • The online application form as soon as you receive an email after your nomination, then download all the required documents to complete your application.
  • Id photo

  • Language certificate in French or English : All nominated students must be able to prove at least a level B2 of language proficiency under the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in the language in which their chosen course will be taught at FSJPS. You will be required to include in your application form a document that proves your level of proficiency (official certificate, statement from a lecturer in your home university, or OLS test for Erasmus+ students). Once you have arrived, you will have the opportunity to improve your level of French with the intensive and extensive courses offered by the University.

  • Passport or Identity document

  • Academic transcript of records

  • Learning agreement

  • Health insurance certificate or European health card

Once your application has been considered by our faculty, you will receive an admission letter at the email you indicated in your application form.

How can I choose my courses

Our faculty offers a large range of courses in French and in English, from the first year of « Licence » (Bachelor) to the first year of Master (Master’s degree). You can find here the list of the available courses en english or the courses taught in french.

You must note that :

  • A « Licence » course = 5 ECTS (European credit transfer system)
  • A « Master » course = 8 ECTS

The University of Lille offers French language courses to the international students (intensive courses at the beginning of the year then extensive courses during the semester). These courses are free and enable you to validate 3 ECTS per semester.

The courses take place at the Département de l'enseignement du français à l'international (Defi) (Pont-de-Bois campus, Villeneuve d’Ascq), and at la Maison des Langues (Cité Scientifique campus, Villeneuve d’Ascq).

How to prepare my arrival ?

You must let us informed about your arrival date so that we can organise it together. Please send an email at : ri-droit@univ-lille.fr and  exchange-helpdesk@univ-lille.fr

We will help you take all the necessary steps (housing, visas, etc.).

How can I study at the FSJPS?

As with any exchange programme, you will be able to come and study at the University of Lille at the FSJPS once your home university has selected you.

Once I have been selected, what do I do?

As with students on exchange programmes, the process of registering with the FSJPS as an exchange student is carried out via an online platform: Moveon.

You must then :

  • Fill in the online application form when you receive an email after your selection, and upload all the necessary documents to complete your file.
  • Choose your courses at the FSJPS and fill in your learning agreement, which you must sign and have signed by your home university and by the FSJPS.
  • Provide proof of your level of French.
  • Download the schedule of steps to follow.

Once your application has been examined by the FSJPS, you will receive an electronic letter of acceptance at the e-mail address you have given on your application form.

How are my double degree courses organised?

Double-degree students have a compulsory choice of courses. Changing one or more courses will result in the cancellation of the double degree.

Can I take French courses during my double degree?

The University of Lille offers French language courses to international exchange students (intensive preparation followed by extensive courses during the semester). These courses are free and can be used to earn additional European Credits (ECTS).

They take place at the Département de l'enseignement du français à l'international (Defi) on the Pont de Bois campus, and at the Maison des Langues on the Cité Scientifique campus.

How do I prepare for my arrival?

You must inform us of your arrival date so that we can organise it together. Please send an e-mail to ri-droit@univ-lille.fr  and exchange-helpdesk@univ-lille.fr . We will help you with all your accommodation and visa requirements.

You are an international student and you wish to register for a degree at the University of Lille. You are enrolling for the first time in a higher education institution in France.

What procedures need to be followed?

The procedures for your admission and registration will depend on a number of factors such as :

  • your nationality
  • the country in which you obtained your baccalaureate or secondary school leaving certificate
  • your country of residence
  • the year in which you wish to apply to the FSJPS

What can I study at the FSJPS?

All you have to do is consult the range of courses offered by the FSJPS, and choose the course best suited to your university project.
